PTs Encouraged to Offer Expertise in Exercise Prescription

PTs are encouraged to contact physicians and offer their expertise in prescribing appropriate exercise programs for patients during this month, in support of Exercise is Medicine -- a program designed to encourage America's patients to incorporate physical activity and exercise into their daily routine and calls on physicians to prescribe exercise to their patients. The campaign has targeted May as May-Kit Happen Month, suggesting that physicians "Distribute exercise/physical activity tips to all patients at the conclusion of each appointment. If you can, write an exercise 'prescription' for your patient. If not, consider a referral to an appropriate professional for an exercise prescription."

PT Bulletin Online, Vol 9, Issue 20

P.s. -substitute "veterinarian" into physician above for a similiar version.
