Everyone always wants to know what I feed our animals. I think that this is another area of "your mileage may vary" b/c there is no "one way". Lately, they get "Halo" which is all natural and free of preservatives. They love love love it. I love what the company represents and yes, I love that Ellen is behind the company now. I do not love the price. They get a mix of this plus dry-vegetarian (I realize dogs are primarily carnivores but he Loves veggies!) Beneful for BooBear and Avoderm for PJ.
I also believe that supplementation is important especially for older dogs. Most people try Chond/Gluc products but give up w/ the reason most often stated as, "I didn't see any difference." You rarely do. But if the products can slow down or maintain some level of joint health and function...THAT is what is important. You don't notice changes with your vitamins do you? (If you do, let me know!) There are many great products out there but I like Halo's powder "Hip hip hooray!" (isn't that cute!) because pills are no fun. They also get probiotic powder in their food as well. Must be good; they eat all of it!
So, there you have it. Yes, I've tried cooking homemade meals for them and they get bored with it, don't eat it, and it takes a LOT of time.
What do you feed and why?
